First, create an account on FluxRPC and an API key. Next, download and run Lantern. It will print a configuration URL to your terminal. Access that with a web browser and follow the instructions. Consult our documentation for more information.

Lantern is for traders, arbitrage bots, and large-scale applications. In short, anyone that needs to query the Solana account state frequently and receive an answer quickly.

All plans work, even the free plan! The free plan + the "benchmark" configuration is a great way to test Lantern at no cost. However, we recommend a Developer plan for serious usage, giving you enough bandwidth and higher rate limits.

Lantern uses a custom protocol to efficiently synchronize your local copy of the Solana account state with FluxRPC. You only need to store and update the Solana programs you're interested in, then make RPC requests to localhost.

Lantern costs $6 per 100GB of bandwidth. The cost depends on how much data you cache and how frequently it changes. As a reference, keeping every major DEX, PumpFun, and Moonshot up-to-date uses about 240 GB monthly (plus ~45GB on startup). This requires at the very least a Developer plan to try out, and a Scale plan in production. You can make any number of RPC requests at no additional cost - saving hundreds or thousands per month for high-volume applications.

Lantern will forward the request to FluxRPC. You can configure Lantern to detect this and start caching the account, keeping it up-to-date. This is useful for System or Token program accounts, though it can consume significant bandwidth.

Lantern should be a drop-in replacement for any RPC service. If you ever make an RPC call that Lantern doesn't have up-to-date information on, it will simply pass that request to FluxRPC.

Yes! Please reach out. We may be able to suggest ways to get the most out of Lantern, or offer you a temporary API key to confirm that performance really is as good as we say it is.

Each copy of Lantern needs its own API key. Just create an API key for each copy at the FluxRPC website. This will not incur any extra charge.

If your account is out of bandwidth, this can cause the issue. If not, your API key may not have been registered correctly on our servers. Log in to the FluxRPC Website, visit the 'API Keys' page, click on the details of any API key, and select 'Re-register API Keys'. This will force re-registration and your key should work. If not, please reach out to support.
