How Token Validation Works

In itself, validation does not affect the token score. However, we use it to detect 'copycat' tokens. Copycat tokens are flagged as higher risk. In this way, token validation affects the score of other tokens.

1. Eligibility Check — The token must exist for at least 24hrs, and not already be validated.
2. Minimum Criteria — The token must meet certain minimum criteria — we won't process validation if the token has too high of a risk score. It is possible to check a token's eligibility for validation (it's an endpoint in the Tokens section).
3. Purchase .token Domain — The token issuers must purchase a .token domain by signing a transaction and paying a modest fee. These domains are offered in partnership with Alldomains.
